CAAS aims for the development and application of scientific study of material cultural heritage in its archaeological and art historical context with a focus on an effective interface among the disciplines involved.

To accomplish this, CAAS may have the possibility to provide funding for projects in the field of arts and archaeology that incorporate innovative science-based techniques available at the Delft University of Technology.

CAAS may fund projects in two different ways, it may fund pilot studies that should lead to bigger projects and subsidy applications. And CAAS may match projects funded by other organisations. The project proposal should incorporate both Leiden University and the Delft University of Technology research groups.
